Abstract
This paper focuses on the switching surge duties imposed on capacitors and air-cored reactors which are used in single tuned filters at are furnace installations, switching surge studies are often necessary to fully rate these components, Rating guidelines are provided, An exampl e compares conventional filter designs with designs in which switching surges are considered.
