Nonsymmetric inhomogeneous step expansion in a plane-parallel waveguid
e is studied. Its coupling with the regular channel is arranged throug
h a closely spaced grating of metal strips on the substrate. Scatterin
g characteristics are found from the solution of the electromagnetic p
roblem by use of the double-side equivalent boundary conditions and th
e method of moments. The influence of the resonant cavity parameters o
