Quasi-TEM line structures with untraditional conductor shapes have bee
n recently analyzed in the technical literature, and quasi-TEM paramet
ers have been computed by various numerical methods. In some cases, an
alytical conformal mappings have been utilized to provide comparison d
ata. However, analytical computations were easily provided only for in
finitely thin electrode geometries and assuming magnetic walls at the
dielectric interfaces in inhomogeneous dielectric structure. Numerical
conformal mapping procedures, exact in principle, are used in this ar
ticle to provide data for thick electrode structures. When necessary,
accurate mappings of dielectric interfaces are derived to handle inhom
ogeneous dielectric structures in transformed geometries. Results obta
ined from different procedures are compared. (C) 1997 John Wiley & Son
