R. Cabezali et al., MULTIPLE PYOGENIC LIVER AND SPLEEN ABSCES SES - GOOD RESULT WITH ANTIBIOTIC-TREATMENT, Revista espanola de enfermedades digestivas, 84(4), 1993, pp. 267-269
The authors report a case of multiple and spleen pyogenic abscesses ca
used by Peptostreptococcus spp., in a patient who recently underwent l
aparotomy due to duodenal perforation. He was successfully treated by
means of intensive and extended antibiotherapy. We would like to stress
the importance of an early and etiological diagnosis performed by per
cutaneous puncture and bacteriological study, in order to start a sele
ctive antibiotherapy. Other therapeutical possibilities are discussed.
