Abstract
The interdisciplinary project ''Computer supported experience guided w ork'' (CeA) which is sponsored by the German Federal Ministry of Resea rch and Technology has been studying the empirical knowledge in the CI M environment since October 1990 within the framework of the sub-proje ct 2 (CeA2). The project aims at developing requirements to experience -promoting organization structures and suitable technical components i n the CNC-CAD and CNC-PPS chains [1]. This article describes the WOP c ontrol 2000 which was designed and built as a prototype by the Fraunho fer-Institut fur Arbeitswirtschaft und Organisation (IAO) (Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Engineering) and the Stuttgart-based Institut fur Arbeitswissenschaft und Technologiemanagement (IAT) (Institute fo r Human Factors and Technology Management). This system is an informat ion system which supports the shop personnel in future, decentralized working structures much better than is currently possible.
