N. Esposito et al., QUASI-ANALYTICAL MODEL FOR EDDY CURRENTS AND FORCES ANALYSIS IN AXISYMMETRICAL GEOMETRIES WITH MOVING CONDUCTORS, IEEE transactions on magnetics, 29(6), 1993, pp. 2407-2409
In this paper a quasi-analytical model for the analysis of eddy curren
ts distributions and forces in axisymmetric systems with conductors in
motion is presented. The model is based on the analytical solution of
the vector potential formulation of the Maxwell Equations for a sinus
oidal steady state regime relating to an axially infinite geometry wit
h conductors moving at a constant velocity. When the conductors move a
t a constant velocity, the model allows the analysis of axially infini
te geometries for every kind of excitation waveforms. Finite axial geo
metries are considered, for iron free systems, superimposing two solut
ions relating to axially Infinite geometries. The model can be used fo
r the analysis of different devices, and a particularly useful applica
tion for the analysis of the transient induced voltage in a Non Destru
ctive Testing system is shown.
