Magnetization measurements have been made on polymer bonded melt-spun
Nd-Fe-B and on Sm-Co 2:17 powder. Changes in remanence curves with vol
ume fraction of magnetic filler are attributed to changes in the magne
tic interaction between particles. Measurements on the remanent states
indicate that this interaction increases rapidly with volume fraction
at low volume fractions, and slowly at high volume fractions. It is s
hown that at coercivity, the variation in interaction with the volume
fraction is slower than in the remanent state.
