Abstract
The increase of iron losses in soft magnetic materials due to the modu lation depth in pulse width modulation (PWM) inverters are analyzed. I n particular, the specific loss variations with different modulation i ndexes are measured both in wound cores realized with high quality gra in oriented magnetic material and in induction motors.
