Abstract
An undergraduate senior project to design and simulate a modern Centra l Processing Unit (CPU) with a mix of simple and complex instruction s et using a systematic design method is presented. The main objectives of the project are to accustom the students with modern design methods as well as to help the students gain practical experience in designin g digital computers. Findings and suggestions on the use of modern wor k and design concepts in a group project environment are discussed.
