Abstract
During a survey of nematodes on islands in the Western Indian Ocean, f our different 'species' of the Xiphinema americanum group were found. Two of these are tentatively identified as Xiphinema diffusum Lamberti & Bleve-Zacheo, 19 79 and Xiphinema pseudoguirani Lamberti, Ciancio, Agostinelli & Coiro, 1992, while the other two do not fit the descript ions of any of the nominal species. One of these is described herein a s Xiphinema franci sp. n., while the other is left unnamed. All four f orms are illustrated, and their morphometrics tabulated.
