Mj. Damzen et al., REFLECTIVITY AND OSCILLATION CONDITIONS OF A GAIN MEDIUM IN A SELF-CONJUGATING LOOP GEOMETRY, Optics letters, 19(1), 1994, pp. 34-36
The intensity-dependent reflectivity of a gain medium in a self-phase-
conjugating loop geometry is numerically modeled by use of exact integ
ration equations without restriction on the degree of gain saturation.
High conjugate reflectivity and high energy extraction efficiency of
the gain medium are predicted. A weak saturation analysis is also pres
ented to derive useful expressions for the threshold input intensity f
or oscillation of the backward conjugate mode and the resonant oscilla
tion frequencies.
