PREPARATION, ELECTRONIC, IR AND RESONANCE RAMAN-SPECTRA OF 2 NICKEL DMIT-PIPERIDINE MIXED COMPLEXES

The preparation of the mixed complexes [Ni(dmit)(2)(piperidine)(2)][NB u(4)] and [Ni(dmit)(pip)(2)] are reported for the first time and their electronic, IR an resonance Raman spectra are presented. The results suggest that previous assignments for bis-dmit metal complexes are not correct. In particular, the band previously assigned to an internal t ransition of the ligand in the visible region is now shown to originat e from an interligand transition, involving molecular orbitals extensi vely delocalized over the molecule.
