Hy. Aboulenein et V. Serignese, DIRECT ENANTIOSELECTIVE SEPARATION OF BEVANTOLOL BY HIGH-PERFORMANCE LIQUID-CHROMATOGRAPHY ON NORMAL AND REVERSE CELLULOSE CHIRAL STATIONARY PHASES, BMC. Biomedical chromatography, 8(1), 1994, pp. 22-25
A direct, isocratic and simple chromatographic method is described for
the enantiomeric separation Of bevantolol (BEV) using normal and reve
rse cellulose tris (3,5-dimethylphenylcarbamate) chiral stationary pha
ses (CSPs) known as Chiralcel OD and Chiralcel OD-R, respectively. The
effect of various alcohols present in the mobile phase on the separat
ion factor (alpha) and resolution factor (R(s)) has been studied. The
method has been used to determine and identify the BEV enantiomers in
human urine after oral administration of racemic BEV. The chiral recog
nition mechanism(s) between the analyte and these chiral stationary ph
ases is proposed.
