Abstract
The spectroscopic properties of commercial laser diodes produced by di fferent manufacturers are reported. The laser diodes investigated are of the InGaAlP and GaAlAs types which operate in the wavelength region s 625-695 and 735-900 nm, respectively. Spectroscopic properties discu ssed are wavelength tunability by temperature and current, spectral pu rity and line width.
