FUNGAL EXTRACTS IN CLINICAL-PRACTICE

Sensitivity to fungi is a common clinical problem. Although many comme rcial extracts for diagnosis and treatment of fungal sensitivity are a vailable, there is a lack of standardized materials. New research into the isolation and purification of fungal allergens may improve upon t his situation. Controlled immunotherapy trials with fungal extracts ha ve identified selected populations who may benefit from this type of t herapy.
