M. Rovatti et al., PYROLYSIS OF REFUSE DERIVED FUEL - KINETIC MODELING FROM PRODUCT COMPOSITION, Journal of hazardous materials, 36(1), 1994, pp. 19-33
The pyrolysis of RDF has been studied in this work by analyzing the ga
seous product composition at different temperatures and reaction times
. The formation of each gaseous component in the pyrolysis gas has bee
n described by supposing the occurrence of simultaneous first-order re
actions as well as neglecting possible interactions among them. This k
inetic approach allows the calculation of the rate constants of format
ion for each product at different temperatures and the related thermod
ynamic quantities and the formulation of hypotheses on the mechanisms
involved in the pyrolysis. Concerted mechanisms are proposed for the f
ormation of most of the detected gaseous products.
