Good agreement with the superconducting transition temperatures of low
- and high-T-c short coherence length superconductors is obtained with
two sets of simple equations derived in terms of the density of state
s for quasi-two-dimensional materials. The accord with experiment hold
s for layered cuprate, heavy fermion, dichalcogenide, and layered orga
nic superconductors over a wide range of high to low critical temperat
ures. A triplet state is predicted for UPt3 and TaS2(pyridine)(1/2) as
a best fit to the data. The expressions for T-c are compared, and a r
eason for the success of this simple approach is suggested.
