Abstract
Undetected cold agglutinins were encountered in a patient undergoing c oronary artery bypass grafting using antegrade cold blood cardioplegia . Macroemboli were infused into the coronary arterial tree. These were flushed out by the use of retrograde cold crystalloid cardioplegia. A ctivated cold agglutinins may be hazardous in cold blood cardioplegia.
