Mb. Izzat et al., USE OF RETROGRADE COLD CRYSTALLOID CARDIOPLEGIA IN A PATIENT WITH UNEXPECTED COLD AGGLUTINATION, The Annals of thoracic surgery, 56(6), 1993, pp. 1395-1397
Undetected cold agglutinins were encountered in a patient undergoing c
oronary artery bypass grafting using antegrade cold blood cardioplegia
. Macroemboli were infused into the coronary arterial tree. These were
flushed out by the use of retrograde cold crystalloid cardioplegia. A
ctivated cold agglutinins may be hazardous in cold blood cardioplegia.
