Y. Shimazaki et al., MIXED-TYPE OF TOTAL ANOMALOUS PULMONARY VENOUS CONNECTION WITH HEMI-PULMONARY VEIN ATRESIA, The Annals of thoracic surgery, 56(6), 1993, pp. 1399-1401
This reports a successfully corrected case of an 8-day-old baby who ha
d a rare mixed type of total anomalous pulmonary venous connection in
which the left pulmonary vein connected to the portal vein and the rig
ht one was atretic as demonstrated by pulmonary artery wedge angiograp
hy. The left common pulmonary vein and right pulmonary veins were anas
tomosed to the left atrium, separately. The patient tolerated the oper
ation and has been well. Early total repair after accurate diagnosis w
as successful for this rare combination of anomalous pulmonary venous
connection.
