An aortobronchial fistula resulting in massive hemoptysis developed in
a 48-year-old man 13 months after unilateral lung transplantation. Hi
s posttransplantation recovery was complicated by bronchial dehiscence
requiring revision and subsequent stricture formation treated by gran
ulation tissue excision, placement of endobronchial stents, dilation,
and laser photoablation. Early and aggressive treatment using these mo
dalities is necessary in the successful management of airway complicat
ions after pulmonary transplantation.
