M. Torkar et al., ANALYSIS OF SEGREGATIONS IN AS-CAST X40CRMOV51 STEEL, Materials science & engineering. A, Structural materials: properties, microstructure and processing, 173(1-2), 1993, pp. 313-316
The properties of steels for die casting dies depend on the intensity
of microsegregations that occur at the scale of the secondary dendrite
arm spacing during the solification of steel. In industrial 4 t ingot
s made of X40CrMoV51 steel, the interdendritic segregations of Cr, Mo
and V were measured and the activation energy for diffusion of Cr, Mo
and V during homogenization treatment was calculated.
