T. Furuhara et T. Maki, THE ROLE OF MATRIX DISLOCATIONS IN GROWTH LEDGE FORMATION ON FCC-BCC INTERFACES IN A NI-CR ALLOY, Philosophical magazine letters, 69(1), 1994, pp. 31-36
The structure of the interfaces between a f.c.c. matrix and b.c.c. pre
cipitates, across which a Kurdjumov-Sachs orientation relationship hol
ds, was examined in a Ni-45 mass% Cr alloy. Intruder matrix dislocatio
ns, whose Burgers vector is not parallel to the(111)(f.c.c.)//(110)(b.
c.c.) interface, were found to create new growth ledges. These disloca
tions can accommodate the misfit between the interplanar spacings of c
lose-packed planes parallel to each other.
