Abstract
This paper describes an iterative numerical calibration method for an orthogonal triple-hot-wire probe and the associated non-iterative data reduction procedure. The performance of the triple-hot-wire probe has been assessed by various verification tests, including comparison tes ts with an X-wire probe in two-dimensional flow measurements. in order to assess the capability of the triple-hot-wire probe in three-dimens ional flow measurements, the angular response of the probe on the mean -flow and turbulence quantity measurements have also been investigated .
