Ra. Gbadegesin, ROOT-ROT OF DELONIX-REGIA CAUSED BY FUSARIUM-OXYSPORUM IN THE NORTHERN GUINEA ZONE OF NIGERIA, Discovery and innovation, 5(3), 1993, pp. 255-259
The pathogenicity of Fusarium oxysporum isolated from diseased Delonix
regia (Flamboyante), was investigated. Seedlings of flamboyante inocu
lated with the pathogen had poor root development, leaf chlorosis and
stunted growth. Infection of seedlings of D. regia was successful whet
her or not the collars of the seedlings were wounded prior to inoculat
ion. Re-isolation of F. oxysporum was only possible on the inoculated
seedlings of the test tree seedlings.
