Yl. Zhang et al., NUCLEAR-CHARGE DISTRIBUTION IN THE SPONTANEOUS FISSION OF CF-252 - DETERMINATION OF FRACTIONAL CUMULATIVE YIELDS OF TE-133M AND TE-133G, Journal of radioanalytical and nuclear chemistry, 189(2), 1995, pp. 165-174
The fractional cumulative yields (FCY) of Te-133m and T-133g, in the s
pontaneous fission of Cf-252 were measured for the first time by a rad
iochemical method. The values of FCY are 0.533 +/- 0.014 and 0.291 +/-
0.042 for Te-133m and Te-133g, respectively. The isomeric state to gr
ound state fractional independent yield (FIY) ratio of Te-133,R, was f
ound to be 3.5. The root-mean-square angular momentum of the primary f
ragment corresponding to the fission product Te-133, Jr.m.s. = 8.8 ($)
over bar h, wits estimated according to a simple one-parameter statis
tical model. The fractional cumulative yields from this work together
with other literature data in the mass region A = 131-141 are compared
with the ''normal'' yields given by the empirical Z(p) model by Wahl.
It suggests that both the N = 82 neutrons shell and nucleus pairing e
ffects are not apparent for the spontaneous fission of Cf-252.
