Abstract
In this short article we present a new fast finite-difference time-dom ain (FDTD) method. Producing exactly the same solution to Maxwell's eq uations as Yee's classic FDTD method, the fast FD TD method offers up to a 50% reduction in the number of multiplications, which is a very i mportant indicator of the computational complexity of an algorithm. Ma thematical analysis and computer simulations are given in the article. (C) 1994 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
