Abstract
Single crystals of a new compound in the system Cd(CN)2-hexamethylenet etramine (HMTA) with the composition [Cd(CN)2 . 2/3C6H12N4] were obtai ned by crystallization from an aqueous solution containing Cd(CN)2 and HMTA. The structure consists of a ''supramolecular'' network of -Cd-C N-Cd- and -Cd-HMTA-Cd-chains. The structure is compared with that of a n already known compound [Cd(CN)2 . 1/3C6H12N4].
