Ps. Meyer et al., GENETIC-ANALYSIS OF ASTAXANTHIN-OVERPRODUCING MUTANTS OF PHAFFIA-RHODOZYMA USING RAPDS, Biotechnology techniques, 8(1), 1994, pp. 1-6
Simple and reproducible DNA fingerprints from a naturally occurring Ph
affia rhodozyma strain as well as from astaxanthin-overproducing mutan
ts were produced with a single arbitrary primer using PCR. Between 3 a
nd 5 major DNA fragments were produced. These ranged in size from 0.7
to 2 kilobase pairs (kb). Some bands were present in all the P. rhodoz
yma strains while others were observed only in individual mutants.
