Abstract
Spatial and seasonal variation of different physical processes governi ng the transport of salt and sediment of the Muvattupuzha river are di scussed. Salt and suspended sediment due to tidal pumping was directed upstream, salt transport, due to vertical shear was upstream irrespec tive of seasons. Suspended sediment concentration was higher during ho od tide.
