Abstract
T cells can recognise foreign major histocompatibility complex (MHC) a ntigens by two distinct routes, either directly as intact molecules or indirectly as peptides after antigen processing. Danny shoskes and Ka thryn Wood review the evidence that indirect presentation of allopepti des may play a significant role in the events leading to the rejection or acceptance of allo- and xenografts.
