Peripheral blood lymphocytes and bone marrow cells from the patients w
ith acute lymphoblastic leukemia, chronic lymphocytic leukemia, hairy
cell leukemia and non-Hodgkin's lymphomas were assessed for staining w
ith the panel of lectins (PNA, HPL, LCL, RCA-1, SBA, SJA). These cell
populations have also been characterized enzymocytochemically and for
surface antigens with a series of monoclonal antibodies. We found that
the application of the lectin-peroxidase techniques may be a helpful
tool for classification and diagnosis of human lymphoproliferative dis
eases.
