Internal stresses in the dislocation wall structure of persistent slip
bands (PSBs) predicted by the classical Mughrabi's composite model [1
] are compared with the stress field produced by the corresponding arr
angement of straight edge interface dislocations. The analytical metho
d used allows for separation of the long- and short-range stress compo
nents. The presented two-dimensional calculations certify that the ori
ginal one-dimensional model accounts for the long-range internal stres
ses in an acceptable way.
