Abstract
We review some recent advances in modeling of elastic composites and p olycrystals by spring; networks, In the first part, spring network mod els of anti-plane elasticity, planar classical elasticity, and planar micropolar elasticity are developed, In the second part, applications to progressive breakdown in elastic-brittle matrix-inclusion composite s and aluminum sheets are discussed.
