A method for the identification of alpha-emitters sampled from contami
nated surfaces in nuclear facilities with adhesive tape is described.
It was found that the thickness of such a sample is sufficiently thin
for the observation of alpha-lines. When a solid state track detector
is used, the density of the alpha-particle tracks can be measured with
in the range 10(5)-10(7) alpha-particles per cm2. A procedure for obta
ining alpha-particle autoradiographs of the sticking tape samples with
a nitrocellulose solid state detector is developed.
