In order to obtain the energy response of thermoluminescence dosimeter
s for gamma photon ray energies from 10 keV to 10 MeV and for electron
energies between 5 and 12 MeV, a theoretical and experimental study w
as made on LiF-7 rods. The experimental data, normalized to Co-60 gamm
a ray response are compared with different cavity theories. This infor
mation provides knowledge of the behaviour of the dosimeters when usin
g different energies and radiation qualities and enables calibration o
f the system relative to Co-60 gammas.
