Bd. Moose et Km. Greven, DEFINITIVE RADIATION MANAGEMENT FOR CARCINOMA OF THE GLOTTIC LARYNX, Otolaryngologic clinics of North America, 30(1), 1997, pp. 131
Radiation therapy offers excellent cure rates and preservation of the
larynx in the majority of early-stage glottic cancers. Outcome may var
y because of patient-, tumor-, and treatment-related variables. Carefu
lly selected advanced lesions may also be successfully managed with ir
radiation. Hyperfractionation and combined chemotherapy-radiotherapy p
rotocols seem to be promising strategies for the improvement of the th
erapeutic ratio in treatment of patients with more advanced lesions.
