Squamous cell carcinoma of the supraglottic larynx is treated primaril
y by conservation surgery or radiotherapy for early to moderately adva
nced lesions, and total laryngectomy, with or without irradiation, for
advanced tumors. This article reviews the role of radiotherapy, used
alone or in combination with surgery, for squamous cell carcinoma of t
he supraglottic larynx. Treatment philosophy, techniques, and results
from the University of Florida are emphasized.
