Abstract
From reactions of M{N(SiMe(3))(2)}(3) (M = La, Pr, Eu) and (CF3)(2)MeC OH(hftb.H) in thf, the following thf complexes were obtained: [La(hftb )(3)(thf)(3)] (1), [Pr(hftb)(3)(thf)(2.5)] (2), and [Eu(hftb)(3)(thf)( 3)] (3). Single crystal X-ray diffraction showed that (1) is an octahe dral complex in the form of the facial isomer. Sublimation of(l), (2) and (3) caused loss of thf and mass spectra revealed the presence of d inuclear species of type [M(2)F(x)(hftb)(5-x)](+). Addition of diglyme to M(hftb)(3) gave [La(hftb)(3)(digly)(1.5)]. (4), [Pr(hftb)(3)(digly )(1.5)] (6) and [Eu(hftb)(3)(digly)] (8). Sublimation of (4) gave [La( hftb)(3)(digly)] (5) and of (6) gave [Pr(hftb)(3)(digly)] (7). The com plexes (5), (7) and (8) all sublimed in vacuo without loss of coordina ted diglyme and their mass spectra revealed the presence of diglyme-co ntaining species [M(hftb)(2)(digly)](+) and [MF(hftb)(digly)](+).
