Abstract
The complex Pb-6(Ea)(6)(HEa)(2)I-6, (where HEa is ethanolamine) was ob tained by interaction of lead oxide powder and ammonium iodide in etha nolamine. The crystal structure of the compound was determined by X-ra y crystallography. The crystal is formed by [Pb-2(HEa)(2)(Ea)(2)](2+) and [Pb-4(Ea)(4)](4+) cations and iodide anions. Bidentate aminoethoxo groups are coordinated to lead via the oxygen and nitrogen atoms, whe reas monodentate aminoethanol molecules are attached through the nitro gen atoms only.
