Fusion rates and sticking fractions for s-symmetry resonant states tha
t cluster below the (tmu)2s + d threshold in the molecular continuum o
f dtmu are analyzed. The fusion rates for some of these states are fou
nd to be comparable to their particle decay rates. The associated stic
king probabilities appear to be approximately one order of magnitude l
ower than that of the ground state. This feature is interpreted as a r
esult of quantum interference effects arising from the non-adiabatic c
haracter of the metastable states and indicates that the muon catalyze
d fusion might proceed more efficiently if it were to occur from molec
ular resonant states.
