Abstract
The classical and quantum dynamics for an n-dimensional generalization of the kicked planar rotator is considered. The classical system typi cally shows diffusion in phase-space which is similar to that of the o ne-dimensional case, For the quantized system we find in the limit n - -> infinity the free undisturbed motion. For finite n less than or equ al to 26 our numerical investigations always lead to localization inde pendent of the actual value of n.
