This article presents the general categories that operate as a baselin
e requisite for therapeutic community (TC) practice, as well as a form
at for training that is applicable in diverse settings. TC workers fac
e immense challenges in their daily work, challenges that often preclu
de (because of economics and other policy impingements) regular exposu
re to in-service training. The need for continuing training, support,
and review for those who work in therapeutic communities remains criti
cal.
