Fruit bourse of Malaceae results from thickning of the lower part of i
nflorescence axis when fruits are set. This study primary describes st
ructural evolution of this organ in relationship with its productions
: fruit, buds, vegetative and flowering shoots. In the bourse, it appe
ars a significant development of parenchyma structures particularly co
rtical parenchyma and a high cambial activity with regard to lower axi
s. Starch distribution in the bourse is not regular and seems to devel
op with growing centers of this organ.
