Abstract
The unpredictable nature of international affairs continues to require the sudden call of U.S. military forces to active duty at irregular, but recurring intervals. Thus, banks have been and will continue to be faced with the claims of military service members, under the Soldiers ' and Sailors' Civil Relief Act (SSCRA), for relief from loan obligati ons. The author discusses the scope and core provisions of the SSCRA, the types of active-duty military service, the various forms of relief available under the Act, and the limitations that may apply in extend ing SSCRA benefits.
