Ai. Savchuk et al., MAGNETOOPTICAL EFFECTS INDUCED BY EXCHANGE INTERACTION IN DILUTED MAGNETIC SEMICONDUCTORS, IEEE transactions on magnetics, 29(6), 1993, pp. 3399-3401
The magnetooptical effects of magnetoreflection, magnetoabsorption and
the Faraday rotation in the diluted magnetic semiconductors (DMS) Cd1
-xMnxTe, Cd1-xFexTe, Pb1-xMnxI2 have been investigated. For CdFeTe all
oy the range of temperature independence of spin splitting and anisotr
opic Faraday effect have been found and interpreted by Van Vleck param
agnetism in Fe-based DMS. Results received for different DMS have been
analyzed from the point of view of the relationship between constants
of s, p-d exchange interaction, a degree of the Faraday rotation enha
ncement and oscillator strength of excitonic transition. It is suppose
d that the reduction of the exchange interaction with simultaneous inc
reasing of the Faraday effect in Pb1-xMnxI2 crystals is due to the lay
er structure of a lattice of this type of DMS.
