Abstract
With the slight modification of the existing electroplating and anneal ing processes, we developed a corrosion resistant, highly permeable an d high saturation magnetic flux density film. The highest saturation m agnetic flux density (Bs) of the films was 19,900 Gauss and highest pe rmeability was 1,600. Sample heads with Co-Fe-Ni film demonstrated sig nificantly better overwrite performance than conventional NiFe thin fi lm heads, as consistent with a series of Finite Element (FE) analysis calculations.
