Abstract
A high quality Bi-2212 single crystal has been studied using core-leve l photoemission. The presence of high binding components in Bi (4f) an d Cu (2p) spectra have been correlated with the different components o bserved in the O (1s) spectra and the effect of extra oxygen in the Bi -O planes. The results of Sr (3d), Ca (2p), Cu (2p) and Bi (4f) core-l evel spectra are discussed in detail.
