Abstract
Onehundred and thirty-nine consecutive cases of retrobulbar blocks wer e evaluated concerning clinical effect on motility and pain. The patie nts were randomly selected to one of four different mixtures of anaest hetics. A mixture containing lidocaine w/adrenaline, bupivacaine w/adr enaline and hyaluronidase was shown to be significantly more effective than any of the other tested mixtures concerning analgesia and signif icantly better than mixtures without hyaluronidase concerning motility /akinesia.
