Abstract
Some recent applications of polyfunctionally substituted alkylheteroar omatics as building blocks for synthesis of condensed heteroaromatics are reported. These include (a) synthesis of benzoazines utilising met hyl-azinylcarbonitriles (b) synthesis of condensed azoles from functio nally substituted methyl 1,3-azoles (c) synthesis of condensed heteroa romatics from trichloromethylazines and trichloromethylazoles.
