The low spin structure of Ba-130 was investigated via the emitted gamm
a-radiation following the beta-decay of La-130. New ''K = 0''- and ''K
= 4''-bands were identified. A comparison with the 0(6) symmetry of t
he IBM is shown. A discussion of the low lying levels of the 0(6) symm
etry in terms of multiple quadrupole ''phonon'' excitations built on t
he ground state is given.
